Comedy Barn Kickin' Chicken 5K Run and Fun Walk

Saturday, September 1, 2018 September 1, 2018 Econo Lodge Pigeon Forge

Runners and lovers of clean comedy alike are getting excited for the Kickin’ Chicken 5K Run and Fun Walk this Saturday, hosted by the Comedy Barn Theater. This is the 4th annual 5k run and fun walk, and its tradition of fun competition has made it a local favorite. The proceeds of the event all go to the amazing nonprofit, Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center.

The Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center is a nonprofit situated in Sevierville, TN dedicated to providing the coordination of necessary services in a child-focused and child-friendly home-like setting for children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse. Working with local law enforcement, Child Protective Services, and specially trained medical and mental health providers, Safe Harbor provides a safe setting for children to make the process of reporting abuse gentler – this helps to minimize the trauma and maximize the opportunities for healing and protection. The organization serves the entire 4th Judicial District of Tennessee, including Sevier, Cocke, Grainger, and Jefferson Counties.

The Comedy Barn has put together an awesome event for participants this Saturday. The run will start at the Comedy Barn, and will make a look throughout Pigeon Forge. There will be a silent auction with some awesome items, along with door prizes to help raise additional money for Safe Harbor. There will be medals for all age divisions, in addition to $100 cash for the 100th finisher!

This isn’t the only example of the Comedy Barn stepping up to help nonprofits in our area and beyond. Earlier this year, the Comedy Barn helped keep the Sevier County Humane Society Animal Shelter from closing down by hosting a benefit showing of their new show, Amazing Animals, in which they matched the total money raised – in total the Comedy Barn donated $50,000 to keep the shelter afloat! The Comedy Barn also consistently donates money to veteran organizations and is dedicated to supporting the men and women who serve our country.
